SD card not recognised after updating software

Hi. I have updated my Xperia Z2 to latest firmware and now my SD card is not recognized by phone. The card works ok with laptop. I have backed up the data, formatted the card and tried again: no luck.

Hello everyone. I've updated my phone to android 6 M, The problem is with the external SD card. In the settings - storage : only internal storage is seen and Remote share too, but not the external SD card. There is no option to mount the SD card too. I've updated my phone using PC Companion. My computer could recognise the SD card, so it is not wiped. Is this normal? Or am I missing something? Thanks.

Could you test a different SD card? what if you remove it > restart the phone > turn off the phone > insert the SD card > check again

Hello uliwooly .

I've tried other SD cards but in vain. No SD card was or is detected. Restarting the phone doesn't solve the problem either. The same SD card works fine on other phones, I've tried it. I tried to boot my phone in the safe mode, but that doesn't work, the phone couldn't be booted in the safe mode too. I mean it always boots in the normal mode though I gave it the touch order to boot in the safe mode. Could anyone tell me why is this happeneing? Thanks.

Here is a screenshot of the storage. Is it normal or What? Shouldn't there be other options, like mount SD card or not?Screenshot_20160429-070238.png

Something went wrong here. The problem is not SOLVED . It is still there. But why does it show SSOLVED, no idea. Can any one fix this? Cause the problem isn't solved yet.Thanks.

I did a software repair using PC Companion, but the problem is still there. When I plug the phone to a computer ,it only recognises the internal storage of the phone, but not the external SD card. Any suggestions please. This is very frustrating. WHY? WHY!!!

At last I've found the solution for this problem. Now my phone recognise the SD card. What I did was to format the SD card with a low level formating tool - windows format does not succeed- so the low level format is required . Then I take the SD card and insert it into the phone. If the phone doesn't recognise it , restart the phone. The phone says it's corrupted, so it format it, and WOOO everything is now fine. Thanks for everyone.:smileyhappy:
