Apps crashing and all sorts of problems

Hope someone can help me sort this out. Facebook, Google and other apps crashing and phone getting hot very quickly and battery running down much faster than usual (15% in half an hour and no apps used just one brief phone call).

It started yesterday (22/6/2017) my phone just started acting strange. Several apps wouldn't open or crashed moments after opening, this happened with games, Facebook and diagnostics. Then the phone came out of stand by on its own and then restarted several times. I switched the phone off and turned it back on and it seemed okay for about 15 mins. Then crashed again while I tried to use Google. I have checked diagnostic and there are 9 system incidents (from yesterday and today) and 49 applications not responding in the last 10 days. The Lollipop system UI has stopped responding 8 times. I have checked and my system seems up to date (Android version 5.1.1 and software version 14.6.A.1.236). I haven't installed any new apps recently. What is the problem and what do I do to sort this out? Thanks for any advice.

I don't know why my post has disappeared twice already. I'm not gonna type it all over for the third time, but I will give a short summary.

It is ridiculous that Facebook AND Sony have not sorted it out by now, it has been 1,5 month already. Other phones don't have problems, so Sony certain has to take responsibility as well.

You can download and install version 128.0.0.26.68 (61451353) of Facebook. This was the most recent version before the bug was introduced. Use Google to find it, since you cannot use the Play Store for this. This version functions fine.

in addition to the facebook errors my phone has collected some other problems simultaneously:

-various apps crash randomly after a couple minutes of use

-calendar app crashes 8 seconds after opening every time, also manages to crash at completely random moments even after i made the app inactive

-power button has a life of its own, when pushing it: it could respond, it could do nothing, it could do a double action (screen on and off), or it could do a delayed action (screen comes on +- 1 sec after pushing)

-phones fails to make back-ups on PC companion

full reset using PC companion didnt solve any of these issues

Hello,
after the last update the phone freezes and restarts very often - several times per day. Especially with mobile data or wifi turned on.

What should you reccommend to solve this?

Did you try uninstalling Facebook App?

Most of us had those kind of trouble when the latest versions was installed in the phone.

If after uninstalling the pone stop crashing, I recomend installing version 128.0.0.26.68 as someone sugested. It worked fine for me.

two days ago, messenger had an update, and no longer opens in my xperia z1 compact. it keeps blinking and cant close it unless i go to homescreen first. it works for a while if i reinstall it, but after 10 minutes it no longer works.

I'm afraid that it will be up to Facebook developers to address the issue, as it's a third party app, Sony can't do anything about it.
