Hope someone can help me sort this out. Facebook, Google and other apps crashing and phone getting hot very quickly and battery running down much faster than usual (15% in half an hour and no apps used just one brief phone call).
It started yesterday (22/6/2017) my phone just started acting strange. Several apps wouldn't open or crashed moments after opening, this happened with games, Facebook and diagnostics. Then the phone came out of stand by on its own and then restarted several times. I switched the phone off and turned it back on and it seemed okay for about 15 mins. Then crashed again while I tried to use Google. I have checked diagnostic and there are 9 system incidents (from yesterday and today) and 49 applications not responding in the last 10 days. The Lollipop system UI has stopped responding 8 times. I have checked and my system seems up to date (Android version 5.1.1 and software version 14.6.A.1.236). I haven't installed any new apps recently. What is the problem and what do I do to sort this out? Thanks for any advice.
Actually these apps are developed by Facebook, targeted on areas that have poor network connections.
However, it seems as if the bugs have been resolved in the most recent versions of Facebook / Messenger.
Try force resetting your phone and also repairing the system software. After the phone switches on again, select only Wifi Network (No Mobile Network!)
Add only one account (perferabely Google) at that time, and remember to turn OFF auto sync.
After the welcome setup has completed, disable the unnecessary default apps and then update the ones you need.
The Facebook issue has been fixed both the Facebook app and the messenger app. I updated both apps yesterday on my Sony Xperia z1 compact and everything is working fine.
I don't agree. When I installed Facebook app my Z1 Compact slowed down itself rapidly. It's not crashing anymore but it's slow and overheating .. Messenger app is functional for like 85%..
Hi.
I think it might be because of a slow Internet in your area. Try clearing the apps cache. Mine works 100%.
Lucky you. Nope it's not the connection. I kept Facebook app for like one hour. During that my entire system worked like slug..
Sorry about that. Maybe you'll have to wait for the next update. Cheers!
Will try to update later hopefully it wil work fine. Wish me luck!
Lol. Goodluck man. 👍
Have you any improvemnt since June? I have just got the later model with Android ver 8. and am having the same problems. I am really dissapointed with this "Upgrade" At least the old Version 4. whatever on my old phone worked.
Surely Sony have a working system already, improve on it not change it so much that only half the things work.
