Hi there,
I bought Xperia Z a few months ago and have been in love with it! Until today. Something really odd has happened to my keyboard, with the letter "a" to be exact.
Basically, I have my language set to English UK and predictive text is now but not autocorrect. Just the suggestions.
So when I type the letter "a" the only would the appears in the suggestions is "Austin". I am not given any other choice. Nothing. It just says "Austin". When I tried this with other letters, for example "f" it works fine, it shows "f", "for", "from" and a whole string of other words. When I type "a", only "Austin" appears. And it is just that letter. I have to type "a" twice for other options to appear.
The only this that has changed on my phone is that yesterday I noticed that some of the suggestions included typos so I went into Settings -> Language & Input -> Xperia Keyboard settings -> Text Input settings -> My words. From here I deleted them all. I can't see how my problem could be the result of that. I had previously deleted all the "My words" and did not get this problem. And it doesn't make sense because the rest of the letters are find and "a" is an actual word too.
I have tried various basic things like restarting my phone, switching to different languages and then back, turning various predictive settings on and off, turning Spell Checker on and off, adding my own words to the Spell Checker but nothing seems to work. It's a problem happening everywhere in my phone, meaning in messaging, WhatsApp, Browser Apps.
I've tried searching the web but it appears I am the first to encounter this problem. All I can think of is doing a factory restore and after researching this I understand it is a HUGE risk but I don't know what else to do.
My software is all to update.
Android version: 4.2.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
Thank you very much!

Before resetting your phone, have you tried clearing cache and data? Settings-Apps-All-Xperia keyboard-Clear data. This will delete all your preferences you set for the keyboard, also probably will delete the user saved words in the dictionary. Reboot and see if problem persists.
