Apps crashing and all sorts of problems

Hope someone can help me sort this out. Facebook, Google and other apps crashing and phone getting hot very quickly and battery running down much faster than usual (15% in half an hour and no apps used just one brief phone call).

It started yesterday (22/6/2017) my phone just started acting strange. Several apps wouldn't open or crashed moments after opening, this happened with games, Facebook and diagnostics. Then the phone came out of stand by on its own and then restarted several times. I switched the phone off and turned it back on and it seemed okay for about 15 mins. Then crashed again while I tried to use Google. I have checked diagnostic and there are 9 system incidents (from yesterday and today) and 49 applications not responding in the last 10 days. The Lollipop system UI has stopped responding 8 times. I have checked and my system seems up to date (Android version 5.1.1 and software version 14.6.A.1.236). I haven't installed any new apps recently. What is the problem and what do I do to sort this out? Thanks for any advice.

Delete fb app dont instll it back. I have the same problem. I did everything from factory settings. Nothing happen. I think it is because of the fb. Z1 have a default fb app here and cant be deleted. I think thats the thing that making this so hard for us. I am using fb lite and everything goes normal again. I miss my fb app and i still didnt find any solution for this. Even hard reset factory settings cant do a thing.

Had the same problem. Deleted facebook and now installed facebook lite. Looks not so nice but it works and no more crashes. So I'm happy!!

I do hope somebody from the Support team would reply to any of us here waiting for an update. Anything to let us know they're looking into it. Spent several hours today uninstalling/reinstalling the FB app and watching my phone restart by itself

There is a new version 131.0.0.32.69 july 3rd. Has anyone tried tog install that version?

I spent money at sending mine to a phone store for repair service thinking it was a major software crash.

Nope, it's just Facebook fault.

Same thing happened to me. And I think only Z1 series is affected. 

I have 2 units of Z1. And about two weeks ago, both of them had a problem with FB. After the FB update, everytime I would try to use FB update, the screen would just flash blue  and white but the FB would not run. So I uninstalled it and just use fb in chrome.

But then, one of the Z1 would start crashing again and again with other apps. I have to restart many times in a day. I can't even receive a call because it would hang. Yesterday, July 8, I factory reset it. It runs smoothly for a while.

I thought I have solved the problem. I even try to use ShareIt to tranfer the FB app to the other Z1. Which I found out to be the biggest mistake. Now both my Z1 keeps crashing!

Is this the idea of sony for us to buy new phones? The crashing  is so frustrating sometimes I want to throw them away.

I am experiencing all the problems that the others have posted in here.

I updated all apps on my Z1 Compact today and had what I think is the same problem - after about 5 minutes the phone would hang and reboot. After uninstalling Facebook and Messenger the issue went away.

Same issues here. My wife and I both have z1 compacts... About two weeks ago, both started rebooting of their own accord. On the worst count, I had over ten reboots inside a couple of hours. Other times it might be OK for 36hrs or more. Also experiencing Facebook issues as mentioned, and irregular battery drain.

Any suggestions Sony??
