Apps crashing and all sorts of problems

Hope someone can help me sort this out. Facebook, Google and other apps crashing and phone getting hot very quickly and battery running down much faster than usual (15% in half an hour and no apps used just one brief phone call).

It started yesterday (22/6/2017) my phone just started acting strange. Several apps wouldn't open or crashed moments after opening, this happened with games, Facebook and diagnostics. Then the phone came out of stand by on its own and then restarted several times. I switched the phone off and turned it back on and it seemed okay for about 15 mins. Then crashed again while I tried to use Google. I have checked diagnostic and there are 9 system incidents (from yesterday and today) and 49 applications not responding in the last 10 days. The Lollipop system UI has stopped responding 8 times. I have checked and my system seems up to date (Android version 5.1.1 and software version 14.6.A.1.236). I haven't installed any new apps recently. What is the problem and what do I do to sort this out? Thanks for any advice.

I've no idea. I haven't tried that.

The red herring might not be one after all. The phone hasn't restarted since I uninstalled FaceBook and Opera.

I'm currently backing up everything I can, before I do a software repair. But first I'm going to see if I can't update to Marshmallow (not much hope of that though)

Exactly the same problem... I tried every solutions offered on the official website. They just didn't work. Eventually uninstalling facebook seems to have fixed it. But obviously I want to use facebook. What am I supposed to do?

Contact facebook so they can address this issue.

I have same problem with my Xperia Z1 Compact. First I tried to put the phone into factory reset few times (which helped only for hours). Then software repair through Sony Companion. Same result. Recently I have noticed some review for Instagram which is saying that it's causing the problems simultaneously with Facebook to Z1C users.. So now I will try not to use these two for a while. Hopefully it's not bigger issue..

Please can Sony notify us when this issue will be resolved because I have the same problem with my Xperia z1 and I have done the os repair too but still same thing.

Just a question, what if it does stop restarting and freezing if the sim card is out of the phone? Does that mean a dicky sim card?

I agree. Immediately after updating the Facebook app the problems began. Ok after uninstalling.

Got the same problem and I'm suspecting Facebook app aswell, cause I only got the bug after updating it!

Will try to uninstall it, but then what did you do? Re install fb or what ?
