When I call my daughter's blackberry whilst it is in silent mode her phone rings but I cannot hear it ringing at my end. When she answers neither of us can hear each other talking. If the blackberry isn't in silent mode then everything is fine. I have tried calling her using other phones but this only happens with my neo v. Has anyone come across this before? I have tried googling this but cannot find anyone reporting this problem. The phone had a OTA system update last week.

Can you please try with a different T Mobile SIM card? This really sounds like a network issue and probably related to your SIM card (is it old?)
You daughter's phone being set to silent mode should not matter. I can't see how that's possible.
Do you get the same problem when calling other phone's or has it only happened when calling your daughter?
The other phones you tried with..are they from the same operator as yours neo v..??
I think it can be operator related..
Just change the sim (different mobile operator) ..and see if you have the same issue or not
Thanks for the quick response. The blackberry is on O2 and the neo is on T Mobile. Both phones are locked so changing sim cards is out of the question. I thought it might have been the recent update on the neo which had caused the problem as I have not noticed it before.
this is really strange..
update your phone again with this

if the problem remains..then i dont know any other solution
I cannot upgrade the phone using the PC as it hangs whenever I try it. Don't know what the problem is but when I connect the phone and hold down the back key the computer hangs, tried it on two computers with the same results.
I have told my daughter to reject my call if her phone is on silent and I will call her back. Seems to be the simplest way.
Thanks for your help.

I tried another sim and it worked fine. Thanks for that, a lot easier.to get a new sim than a new phone
Good to hear that.
Thanks for posting and letting me know it's solved.
