xperia z no sound ( speaker ) when playing media and general mode but have sound when diagnose

so i have this problem where my phone doesnt produce any sound when playing music, and when being called. I've already put it at its max volume but still no sound. I can only hear sound when im using my headphones and also when i diagnose the speaker i sound normaly .... pls help

I have same problem with my z ultra, yet bluetooth and headsets are working.

Adding to what youve said, ive noticed that i cant change the mono to stereo. And when it changed(automatically), the sound now came back.

Same issue. It is most frustrating. Also, my Facebook app was glitching a lot so I uninstalled it and went to reinstall and it wouldn't do it. My phone is feeling pretty useless without being able to use it for calls or entertainment. Poor user experience.

Try the sound about app. Then select where you want the media to play. Had the same problem with my mum's phone and it worked. Hope it helps

Thought I had this problem, turned out my bluetooth was on. Just in case  anyone is as dense as I was.

No sounds for Anything except using  earphones or speaker
