Stereo sound/Volume issue

Hi.

I just can't find anyone who has the same problem. When I listen to music, first off its really annoying how the phone itself decides to lower and increase the volume whenever it wants. It bugs the **bleep** out of me. And the volume is terrible, its like 2/3 volume on my Samsung GS3. Second issue is worse. Its different everytime, sometimes its after 10 minutes or an hour, the stereo sound gets weird. The right earphone has lower volume and the overall volume gets compromized. And all of a sudden it feels like the music is playing in the back of my head. I checked the cable and it is not the problem. I tried other earphones and it doesnt make a difference. I have now ordered Shure SE215 and I want this to work before I get them.

Thank you
Alex

Based on what you have found here it appears the issue is with the headset not the phone so it would be worth returning it so that this may be looked at.

It might sound stupid, but are you sure it's not the recording level of the music itself?

About the volume level and auto volume decrease, there is nothing you can do unless you root. This is Sony protecting your ears from permanent damage.

About the stereo sound issue, check the sound settings under walkman, it has several set ups, make sure there no fabric insice the plug, simetimes it happens that my jeans shed some sort of fabric and goes into the headphone jack.

I am 100% sure. I have listened to these files for years.

I am sure the jack is clear and working. I checked it. I know sometimes I get the message about damaging the ears. But all you need to do is click "OK (which in my mind translates to "shut up please") and then top off the volume again. But let me explain thoroughly how this happens.

I am listening to music through PowerAMP because it rocks, I don't use walkman. After a while, the volume starts fading away slowly but surely. It takes about a minute and it stays at a certain low level. Bear in mind, the volume level still shows maximum level. If I start decreasing it manually, I'd need a dog to know if there is any sound coming out from the earphones.

Last time it happend, I asked my friend to plug his headset into my phone quickly to see how the volume is. The volume was as it should be, I replugin my headset, and the volume is low all of a sudden.

Regarding the stereo issue. Sometimes whenthe phone decides to decrease the volume by itself, because it owns me apparently, it decreases it slightly, but more on the right side than the left side. It makes me feel like there is a speaker inside my skull and its building up pressure to a point where I feel sick.
I have never encountered stupid problems like this. And I can assure you that PowerAMP is not the problem. I have already checked all settings, and there is really no setting that would have this annoying, useless problem that I have got. I have used it for many years and the sound has always been flawless and UNDER MY CONTROL.I tried fiddeling with the built in effects and settings in android, but nothing really has anything to do with this issue.

I don't want this to happen anymore when I get my new earphones. I am a musician, I like many people suffer from weaker hearing because of endless pressure from gigs and all. This max volume is about 10db less than I prefer. PowerAMP has a db booster that I increased to +6 today to be able to enjoy not hearing my sorroundings for an exchange, but like always, it lasts for about 15 minutes, and then im XPERIAs B-word again.

I don't mind the max volume being low because I can solve that with PowerAMP, but when the phone goes into meditation state, there is nothing I can do but take them off, be pissed, calm down and put them on again after an hour. If I am lucky, an angel brought the volume output back and I can enjoy it for another15 minutes before I feel like throwing the piece of crap against the wall.

Give it a try on safe mode, the only thing is that PowerAMP wont work in this state, only Walkman which is the built in player. Use it for a while, an hour maybe to see how it goes

To go on Safe mode, press and hold the power button, when the action pop up shows tap and hold the power off until you get the safe mode boot option.

If the problem persist and if you already did a sw repair with SUS, then take the phone to service.

Hi, thanks for the help so far. Appreciate it, excuse my frustration.

The volume was already low in normal mode. I tried safe mode, still low volume level. Went back to normal mode, still low volume level.

Why did the volume normalize when I plugged in my friends headset, and went low again when I plugged in mine? This is really confusing.

Here is an update. I tried it with another friends headsets. Their headsets gives full volume on my phone, and my headset gives them the same problem I have. Unbalanced stereo sound, and different volumes everytime they plugged in and out. However, their headset worked fine with my phone and their phones.

It looks that way. I have ordered a different set of earphones so I wont go through the trouble of getting it fixed. However, I am very curious about how a headset can cause these issues. Any thoughts?
