Hi,
Wiered.. this just started.
When pressing the shutter button with the camera app, I get the "focus" beep, but not the image capturing.
when touching the screen, the camera captures an image, but the physical button don't.
tried to search for settings enabling the physical button, but didn't find anything.
any ideas ?

Kind of fixed.
Clearing the cach and data of the following apps from the app manager did the trick:
1. Cameras
2. Camera Extensions
3. Camera Common
Sometimes you need to press the button quite a bit more than you usually would.. try depressing it a bit harder and see if that helps.
unfortunately .. no
it captures in time-shift mode and AR mode, but in manual and superior-auto modes, it only focuses the camera...
I think it started after I installed camera360. but I uninstalled it, and still.. not working.
my last option is to try a factory reset... which I rather not do
i understand.. but under the current circumstances, id say that that might be your only way out.. using the repair tool to see what needs to be fixed... it really isnt recomended to have another camera tool that trys to access the camera on the z1.
Well the old Xperia phones I have (Xperia Acro S and go) had an option in ICS to select the capture method... touch screen, shutter and virtual button... Now in Jelly Bean you can add the touch to capture feature but that does not prevent the shutter from taking pictures...
I haven't tried the Z1 myself, but you can dig in the camera settings to see if there is an option for this...
weird... sometimes the button comes to life and works. for a few shots.. then dies...
but , it never worked in "half way - focus, full press - capture"
even when it worked , or works, any use of the button - captures.
is there a utility that allows diagnostic utility that show if the button is pressed, or half pressed ?
does it sound like a software issue, or should I give the phone to a lab ? (kind of afraid that the water resistance might be damaged in the lab)
