How do i stop internet tethering (personal hotspot) from timing out?

Hi all i was wondering if its possible to stop the xperia z from timing out while on personal hotspot. It turns itself off after around 10 minutes.

Settings > more >  tethering > turn it on > thetering settings > portable wifi hospot settings > power save > never

I do not see any USB tethering options for android 4.3, but I do see portable wi-fi hotspot settings. I have turned the power save to "never", but the USB tethering will still turn itself off every 10 minutes or so.

How do I toggle the USB tethering options in 4.3?
