Like the title states, my left earbud randomly started draining extremely fast.
I suspect the 2.0.1 firmware.
I bought these in Denmark on February 17 last year and now they are essentially worthless as I can only use the left earbud for about 40 minutes.
I have since moved countries to Japan, so I don't know what to do about warranty now 😞
I have a attached pictures showing the battery drain using both over about 1 hour.
Sony please respond.
UK version
I've recently got this problem with the rhs (100% flush in under an hour) after I changed the firmware update on (had auto update off) and got 2.0.1 .
Found this in way to many other threads......
I did all the known resets etc and pretty much rubbish.
I've had these for a while as a present, so no date of purchase or receipt, so got in touch with an unhelpful lady on the Sony helpline via chat after raising a Case.
Moved on to management after reminding her that this is a known problem.
Supposed to get a call back in 24hrs ?
I've recently had to return 2 of their TV's for other issues and pi%%ed off with them already.......
Me too
From 20% to 0% in 1 train Station in Berlin
Did you get any support in the end?
Same problem.
To date my whole house looks like a Sony showroom
However in light of this my new TV is a Samsung and I won't buy Sony products ever again
I am also in the process of upgrading my audio equipment - and it won'r be Sony
Plus a new forthcoming Xbox will be replacing the Playstation
So poor service will cost several thousand pounds in my house going forward
Complaining but continuing to buy their products won't get anywhere
No support whatsoever.
After being told by their official service that the approx. repair cost will be approximately EUR 80 (on a good scenario) I'll have to write them off and get another pair of jaybirds.
Never buying anything from Sony again. If you care about sustainability, and you don't want your top of the line electronics to become obsolete just after warranty, please don't buy from them.
Thanks Sony.
I managed to "fix" this issue by:
1. re-initializing the headset via the app (as described here https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00283656)
2. Deleting the app from my phone
3. Restoring the headset to factory settings (https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wf-l900/articles...😞
- placing earbuds in charging case
- long-pressing both earbuds for 10 seconds until light flashes red
- release touch, where you'll then see a green light flash a few times
4. Connecting earbuds to phone via bluetooth
- begin looking for bluetooth connections on phone
- place both earbuds in ears
- long-press both earbuds until they say "bluetooth pairing"
- select earbuds on phone
When I had the app installed the left earbud was saying "10% battery" but showing as 1% in the app.
After following the above steps, the left earbud now says "80% battery", so I'm positive it's a software issue.
It's a shame to lose the headphone features that are available with not being able to use the app, but I'm happy I can continue to use them for now until I replace them with non-Sony earbuds.
I can't express enough how much this issue has put me off buying Sony products in the future. Terrible.
