RDR DC305 continually displaying 'Update'

Hi,

Could anyone comment on how to cure my RDR DC305. It has started to display 'Update' in the display window. I resorted to the reset button which unfroze the unit. But 12hrs later its back. I need HELP! The operating instructions book is not helpful. I need simple step by step instructions. Could anyone comment.

Try running an update of the Channel Scan to search for all Channels, this seems to have worked for me

Looking further at this it looks like a Firmware update is needed, I have just followed the steps on this link: http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/RDR-DC305/downloads/FW_DVDR_105
