I have a HT-ST5000 connected to an AF8 and a RHT-G950 connected to my new 43XG8396. On both these set ups I am unable to display on the screens the info from the remotes of the soundbar and Theatre System. Surely all being Sony products they should be able to talk to each other and dispaly necessary infoirmation. Anyone with any suggestions etc?

Hi provostkaypark,
I am a bit confused. By display the info do you mean the information banner doesn't appear or do you mean the menus?
Cheers,

Thanjks for your reply. When I use the remote for the soundbar no information at all appears on my tv screen. I have to go closer to the illuminated display at the front of the sound bar to see what I am trying to do. I have today been informed by Sony that
please be advised that on the same page you respectfully shared with us (page 30) it is mentioned clearly in the notes on the bottom right hand side that the sound field menu does not appear on the TV screen for TV input. Therefore, the display option will not help you to get the sound field information on the TV screen.
I am not toosure what this means but I suppose I will have to live with it!!

Hi there.
When you press the appropriate button on the remote control the only way to see whaqt is displayed is by going near to the unit and reading it - should it not appear on the tv screen making it easier to operate/choose settings etc?

Hi provostkaypark,
Is the connection via optical cable or HDMI?

Hi provostkaypark,
Have you tried using a different HDMI cable?
