Do tv screens break down after two year?

Is it true that sony tv screens break down after 2 years, i have just bought a bravia kdl32cx523, and i am alarmed to hear this.?

As Thalamus as suggested and his links detail, the issue that has been hitting this and other forums was with regards to a few, very specific models.

It is also worth noting that not every single unit of these model types are affected.  Indeed the percentage of these units that have suffered any fault is still very small compared to the number sold...unfortunately it’s a little higher than we would like, hence the repair process that has been put in place.

Your new Bravia shares little in common with these sets; it a different generation of product, with a totally different chassis and set of components, so no need to be concerned.
