[KD-49XD7005] USB hard disk drives which can be used for recording?
I see these 2 lists .. but no one of these I can buy ...

Hi,
Every extended HDD (on USB) will work. It must be bigger then 32GB, so it can be pendrive.

Hi there
Sony have never stated all the HDD;s that can be used. They cannot possible test all HDDs out on the market, so they normally only guarantee something they can control, such as their own branded ones.
In general though
- 32GB or more
- If 2.5" then it can be USB powered or mains
- if 3.5" then mains powered only
- WD HDDs in the past have given best compatiblity
Sony do state that for Android TVs, the use of USB and SSD Hard Drives cannot be used for recording. See: http://sony-eur-eu-en-web--eur.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/85776/
However I have tested on a couple of USB Flash drives and it has worked for me.
