I've had my Xperia 5 for a week now and I really like it.
Sonyseem to really want me to install Fortnite, I guess to show of what the phone can do. So last night I installed it. But, the only way I can get it to run with out crashing is to go into the in game graphic settings and reduce them to as low detail as possible and the frequency to 20hz or else the game crashes when I jump out the bus!
Ithought it might be a game issue so I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times but still the same problem.
Witht graphics and frequency reduced right down the game plays so then I tried changing the graphic settings mid game, while running around on the island, around 5 minutes in to a game, I moved the graphic detail slider up one position from minimum and went back to playing the game and it crashed with in about 3 seconds! Is the xperia 5 just not able to handle the processing demands of 3d games like Fortnite?

Same problem here. Worked fine until one of the recent updates. Frustrating given it is one of the preinstalled apps you can't delete as well. Game is unplayable at present on an Xperia 5. Really poor.
Hi,
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Fortnite 3 times with no improvement so then factory reset my Xperia 5. Reinstalled Fortnite, thought that would have solved the problem but again while sky diving from the bus the game froze and closed. Reduced the graphic details but still it crashes.
I bought the Xperia 5 two weeks ago on the grounds it's "made for gaming" ! It has Fortnite preinstalled and you can't remove it yet the phone can't run it!! Very disappointed. I expected so much more from Sony.
The Fortnite is to be blamed here, the issues for me started after their last update. Guess they broke something with their update...
Your right! Installed PUBG and set everything to full in the graphics options and at 60hz and it runs perfectly. So I apologize Sony, the Xperia 5 is great again! You were right @sundayrequiem 😂
