I pre-ordered mine here in SG last 26th of October for SGD 1,099, and will be picking it up on the 1st of November. Freebies includes WH-CH700N which costs SGD 249 retail price and a casing. I separately purchase Tempered Glass from a different vendor at SGD 18.90. Can't wait!

Hi there, currently I'm using xz2 premium which is bought in US and using in India but main problem is can't use Indian Sim because of frequency problem, but thanks to some xda forums and members for helping some of us to succefully work Indian sim but officially software update not working and some minor issues.. So now if I buy xperia 5 from US, should it work with indian sim specially volte and vo-wifi? Thanks.

Hi @ganesh84s,

If you purchase the US version of the device it will have the US customization in the device and this can't really be changed (not sure if you can flash a different customization to a model that does not have the customization by default).

The device should work just fine with SIM cards from other countries since as far as I know, there is no region lock, at least not on European devices, US may be a bit different though. It will come down to the bands that are supported. Below you can find the list of supported bands for the US version of the Xperia 5 (J8270).

LTE Bands 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,19,20,25,26,28,29,32,34,38,39,40,41,46,66.

Regarding VoLTE and vo-Wi-Fi, you will need to contact your operator for information about this. In most cases, it requires a operator customized software, but this is not always the case.

An example is the market where I'm situated, the Nordics. Here we have one customization for all countries and it works fine with an Xperia 5 both in Norway or Sweden, as long as it has the NOBA customization. However, if you have a customization that is for the German market, you will not be able to use both these features with a Nordic operator.

I hope that sheds some light on the whole situation.
