Xperia XA Camera Problem in Zoom

Recently, I'm quick covering an event in our place using my device to quickly send it to Telegram.

I'm taking zoomed in shots but apparently when it gets saved, it saves the whole frame, not the zoomed in photo.

When recording a video, the zoom works just fine.

I tried diagnosing it in safe mode, I'm thinking of using the sony companion but I don't want to reset the whole phone. So I'm thinking an alternative. Thanks.

Settings > apps > camera > storage > clear data > restart the phone > check again

Won't that delete my photos?

no, only the settings on your camera but won't affect the pictures

I have the same problem
so i DId what u suggested , and it was okk then ,

but when i changed a few settings of my camera app according to my use the problem remains same NO ZOOMING
so do u have any solution about it

what did you changed ?

mainly resultion 9mp to 13mp  back and 5mp to 8mp front,  that's it
and then the zooming vanished ..

could you repeat the steps to clear the camera app data > boot in safe mode and try to recreate the issue.

Actually I checked again with every changes and it is working

however it seems that zoom is only working with FLASH ON

but if i use the flash off the zoom feature disables automatically
