Call goes to speaker automatically

After updating my SP to JB 4.3, every call I get is routed to the speaker when I answer the call? I have tried searching for everything in the settings, but can't find out what the problem is. It is annoying at work when I have to answer a call, suddenly the speaker comes alive when I swipe the green answer bar. 

Any help is appreciated.

tried this with chrome on my Xperia XA1 plus and it did not work at all so lucky you.

Take 2 on my last comment. 

Finally, your instructions have worked.  It is definitely happening with version update because I have just updated not long ago to Nougat and it was fine until then.  It also changes what comes on screen for an incoming call.  Before Nougat I would get a red and green phone to slide across screen to answer/delete and now after following your instructions and dialling 5 times, a white bar appears at the top of the screen with the words ANSWER/REJECT which is easier than sliding the finger across.  Thank you and 10 out of 10 to you.
