I have a Sony DAV-IS10 surround sound system and have recently bought an LG CX TV to find that the TV does not support DTS. Is there any kind of work around or converter that would allow me to play the TV's audio through the surround system? I don't use the dvd player as my kids jammed it đ¤Śââď¸
Thanks for your help.
There is no way to bypass the problem if not bypassing the TV and connecting directly the source to the AV receiver (but your system AFAIK doesn't have any digital input). In any case there is no streaming source on the tv that make use of DTS, you can find it only on Blurays
So, does this mean I could do it if I bought a blueray? Connecting the sony system to the TV through the Blue ray?
I'm an absolute amateur by the way. Just want to ensure there is no other solution before binning this great system.
You cannot connect an audio system to a tv via a bluray player, rather the opposite. But if the AV receiver accept HDMI input and passthrough, that your own doesn't have... So you don't have a workaround.
PS that's if you need dts through the TV for which I don't know which sources you are using, other kind of codec will be managed by the tv (dolby)
