I wondered if any one else has discovered the the twin tuner TV freesat does not display a TV guide - ie no progam information.
Reported this to Sony technical support as the TV was purchased in June 2026. Despite efforts to reset and retune, and even tried a replacement TV, they advise that the 'TV is operating fully within its technical specifications.
Also provided review feedback to Sony but although they said it would be published, it hasn't presumably because of the negative content
Hi @ashwasher Most Sony TVs have never supported the Freesat Programme Guide as this requires a proprietary licence from Freesat for the EPG. For that, you need to buy a Freesat box. Did you just assume that it had a Freesat EPG or did you actually see it anywhere in the advert or product information. It simply says twin satellite tuners DVB-S/S2. Mind you, as satellite TV only has a few years left before the satellites run out of fuel at the end of this decade.
Many thanks - your information about licences is useful to know and it is interesting that Sony technical support have not mentioned this.
Difficult to understand why Sony make televisions with connections for Freesat only for the user to discover that a proprietary licence not included for EPG use.
To remedy the issue, Sony should consider getting the relevant licences.
The product is not of great use without a program guide.
