Afternoon,
I've just bought a 55X8505 TV with the HT-CT770 soundbar. I'm keen to understand which of the HDMI ports are 4K enabled. I've read online that it is ports 2 & 3, although can't find any Sony documentation to support this.
I want to use HDMI 1, which is the ARC port, for the soundbar but obviously don't want to lose one of my 4K ports in the process!
It's a bit hypotethical at the moment anyway, as there isn't a great deal of 4K content out there. However, I'm just trying to future-proof where possible!
Cheers 🙂

Hi there
There is Sony documentation, its just burried in the specifications. You are correct - HDMI 2/3 are 4K ports.
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/content/cnt-specs/KD-55X8505B/list
Its under "Video Signal"
For external audio (is Soundbar), use the HDMI 1 - ARC port.
Cheers

Cheers Quinnicus!
Hi guys so just to confirm you are using HDMI ARC for AUDIO only and HDMI 2/3 for 4K video only that's the plan? What happens if you bring an AMP into the equation and have everything connected to it via the ARC output/input to the TV. I presume unless you purchase an AMP which supports 4K throughput it would have to go into the TV separately correct?
