Hello All,
I am in need of some advice, please bear with me while I explain.
I bought an Xperia 10 from a dodgy individual on eBay.
I found that I was unable to enable WiFi calling, which is essential because as far as a mobile signal is concerned, I live in Hades. I've been using my old Xperia XA2 Ultra via my router for ages.
After a lot of swapping emails with Sony and 1p Mobile, it turned out that the phone is a Taiwan market model.
I've just discovered that, while there is no official way to convert the firmware to add WiFi calling, Sony recommend doing so using an Open Source flash tool, which I've downloaded onto my PC.
On Sony's advice, I've got into developer options to permit flashing, as it were. It says that unlocking the bootloader? is permitted but when I try, I get this...
Xperia Flash Tool Window
Now, I've got as far as getting a 16-digit unlock code but I've no idea of how or where to enter it.
If I can get any further, I don't know about choosing and using firmware.
As far as I am concerned, it's a here be dragons scenario, so here I am.
Thank you for reading.
