USB HDD not recording

I bought a Sony Bravia KDL-49WE663 a couple of years ago and have been happily recording and watching those recorded programs for over a year now.

However, last week I got a message "Registered HDD is not connected. Connect a device to the USB port for recording."

Despite removing and reconnecting cables and powering everything off and on again several times, I haven't been able to get the HDD to be recognised. So, I can't watch any recordings or record any more programs. Does anyone know a way to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Hi Paddy,

Have you tried to reset your TV which should resolve the issue.

Thanks. I had been a bit reluctant to do the factory reset option, as I wasn't sure what else I might have to reconfigure afterwards. However, I went ahead with it and the issue has indeed been resolved. Thanks for your help.
