Hello @mikwizzy,

have you checked that the 3.5mm audio jack goes all the way in on the TV-side? If you only have sound on one speaker, that sounds to me like the cable isn't properly connected to the headphone-connector OR the connector is formed in a way that the connector can't physically go all the way in to make proper contact.

Alternatively it could be that the cable is broken in some way so only one channel is transmitted - have you tried a different cable or verified with another device (e.g. MP3 Player, Smartphone, Notebook) that the cable is ok?

I've bought a new Bravia TV and am trying to connect it to my (old) hifi system with external speakers). Phono plugs at both ends worked fine with my previous Sony TV

I've connected using the headphone cable that came with the TV (phono plugs on my hifi and headphone socket on the TV) Sound only comes through one speaker and not two

Both speakers work otherwise (eg when playing a CD)

Any help appreciated

Don't have the option of HDMI or optical cable as my venerable amplifier doesn't have these
