topic Sony 65xe9305 in Other TVs

Hi guys

Looking for a bit of advice from anyone that has experience/knowledge of TV repairs My 65xe9305 was acting up randomly by freezing, and rebooting to Android screen. The TV has a 6 yr warranty with retailer so was collected for repair. The repair company stated that the main PCB (circuit board) was faulty and that they were replacing it.

My TV returned after 10 days, it needed to be set up like new again. However after about an hour setting it all up I noticed that the TV was showing up on my Spotify as a 55" xe 9305 rather than a 65".

I went back into the TV settings and surely enough it came up as a 55xe9305.

I believe both TV's come with the same X1 xtreme processor, maybe I'm either naieve or mistaken but I would of presumed that a TV repaired under warranty would use a board from a 65" TV, are the 2 boards the same or has a 55" board been modified to fit my 65" TV. Is it possible a component was cannabilized from another 55" and if so are there any other factors that would have a detrimental affect on the performance of my TV.

I know there are small differences in the nits of the 2 different sizes along with power consumption, should I be concerned or are the components the same.

Appreciate the views of anyone with experience in these areas

Regards

D

Hi dearg1,

This is something that can be fixed by the service centre. I'd recommend reporting this the same way you reported the original issue.

Regards.

Win_88
