Sony KDL48W585BBU horizontal line in middle of screen 18 months old

I bought the TV from Amazon in June 2015. It is lightly used. Imagine my disgust when the TV now displays a horizontal band in the middle of the screen. Any fixes, recalls or is this covered under the UK sales of goods act as a product notr fit for purpose?

Hi there

First thing to do is:

Ensure that you have the latest firmware installed - See HERE
Factory Reset the TV

Does that sound like your issue? If it does, then I think this would warrant further investigating. However the difference is that your TV is a 2014 Non-Android based model, where-as the other two are 2015 Android based TVs.
