Xperia Tablet Z Display Problem - Half screen went DARK & the other half is working fine!!!

I was sending out an email when my Xperia Tablet Z screen starts to flicker and it restarted itself. When it was back on, half of the screen is not working anymore whilst another half of the screen works perfectly fine and responding to touch/clicks onscreen. Auto-rotate works as well. I have tried rebooting and resetting to factory setting but the same issue with the "half-screen" persists.

I did not drop or mishandled the device since I purchased. I hope it is still under warranty as it has not been a year of using it.

Please HELP!! I need this device for my work and business meetings without it I'm "handicapped". Appreciate any of your expert advice and SONY's feedback urgently.

hmm thats odd what it could be is screen failure or connection cable to the screen has glitched itself so it only makes half of screen appear so you should take your device back to where ever you bought it from and show them the issue and hopefully they will have it checked under warranty/guarantee that they have included on your device hopefully it's just the connection cable that glitched itself so it is half connected so the repair center will try to connect it back completely to place so rest of screen lights up

Thanks Jake, Fingers-crossed, I'm bringing it in to a Sony Centre tomorrow and I'm away from the home country I bought it from in Hong Kong, they might not wanna even touch my device since they might not cover as international warranty...sigh! Hopefully they will take a look at it when i bring it in tomorrow...:smileysad:

if you bought it off a store in hong-kong then warranty is vaild to them if it says warrantiy is vaild international then you can use the warranty anywhere

It seems like hardware problem to me.I suggest you visit a sony service.

i recently had the same issue but mine was hald flickering with different colors and the hald is with display and flickering... I dont have a warranty for my device which is bought in japan. hope you could help me. i tried opening the device but cant remove the lcd part

my xperia tablet bacame like this recently. and there's no warranty on it anymore since it came from japan and here in the philippines. the sony repair shop doesnt have a solution to replace the lcd yet. this might just be a connection problem. any advice? thanks

My tablet has went exactly like your screen SHADOW23RAVER. I can't find the issue on any other website.
Anyone found a fix for this?
Can't reset the tablet using power and volume buttons because I can't see the options it brings up.

Hi all

This is definately a hardware problem rather than anything an update etc could fix.

I'm sorry to say its time to either get them sorted under warranty or possibly pay if the warranty has expired

I have the same problem, but I'm out of warranty .... Who advise what needs to be fixed? The servis dealer told me: EXCHANGE SWAP ... but do not want to. Repair will cost € 480. I'll buy a new tablet, better for my, but Sony offered nothing !!!
