Problems connecting HDR CX360 to WD 'My Book' External Hard-drive

Hi All

I'm having problems connecting my HDR CX360 camcorder to a WD 'My Book' 2TB external hard drive.

When I connect using the VMC-UAM1 cable the camcorder states "Recogizing..." followed by "Cannot recognize USB device".

Can anyone help?

Is this without using a PC? I believe that function won't work with drives over 2TB. I know yours is exactly 2TB but that could well be the problem.

This is just a wild guess, but if it's a new drive, you might get it to work by partitioning it so it becomes, in effect, two smaller volumes. The camera might recognise the bigger of them and work... if it's a new drive you have nothing to lose as you can always re-partition it.

Otherwise a smaller drive would be worth a try.

In any event, do check out the section Saving images on an

external media device in the CX360 owner's manual and make sure everythig else is set up right.
