Hello, i am from Bulgaria and i just go to a highschool so i will try to type to you with my best english, i hope you will understand me. I have a problem with my sony handycam DCR-TRV340E, we buy it before probably 10 yeas, so i forgot how to work with it.Im making a skateboarding video, to win a competition and i have to finish it till september 10.. i push the button(its with a red point on it) and on the display types: REC , then I want to stop the video but i don't know how it have rew ,play, ff, stop, pause on the top of the handycam but when i push stop i doesnt work. I pushed a button called -end search and somehow the video stops. Please tell me wich button i have to push to stop the video.PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE TO FINISH THE VIDEO TILL SEPTEMBER 10 AFTER THAT IT DOESNT COUNTS. My second question is, tha from this site i install something for my handycam and at the device manager at imaging devices it says something like Sony Digital Handycam... at the page i isntall this it says that if i hav that on my device manager(windows vista) my camera will be succesfully installed - i want to transfer pictures and videos to my computer but i don't know how wiht that thing if you know a easier way to import pictures and videos to my computer please tell me i will be very thanksfull im glad that i found a site for this

Hi Peter,

Your English is very good.

To stop recording, press the same START button again. This is the button with the red dot that you pressed to start recording.

I cannot find a manual in Bulgarian - only Hungarian and Slovak - but you can download an English version from here: -

The software that came with your camera is NOT compatible with Vista. To transfer video from the DV Tape you must use an iLink (firewire) cable and import the video using Windows Movie Maker.

I think you can use USB to transfer from a Memory Stick only and you cannot stream video over USB.
