my new dcr 350ve camcorder will not download it's hard drive footage to my new applemac air laptop, only the content of the flash card.....tried contacting sony on the subject with no luck....ceej42.

Hi ceej42, welcome to the forum!

If you're using iMovie and connected via the Firewire port, the mac should detect the drive as soon as it's powered up.

If you haven't already tried this, give it a go. There may be other issues causing the problem but we'd need to know a little more about your set up before we can explore othe possibilities.

Hi Mick, thanks for reply but sadly the Mac Book Air doesn't have a firewire socket.
