Sony Handycam DCR SX45E

I own a video camera Sony Handycam, model DCR SX45E( http://www.sony.ro/product/sdh-standard-definition-on-memory-stick/dcr-sx45e/tab/overview ) and i have a big problem! I don't know how to use this camera like a webcam because it's very necessary.

First I bought the camera to use on trips, making clips but I thought at the same time to be a solution for home, using like a webcam.

I search on the internet if i can use it with the USB cable, i tried after installing the default software with other programs but didn't work. When I connect the camera at the TV, is ok, not problem but when i connect the PC i can't use it like a webcam.

Wich are the alternatives to connect the camera to PC for using like a webcam?

I have seen this question asked on a few occasions during my research and many people have mentioned software available at http://www.trackercam.com/TCamWeb/download.htm. Initially the software is only offered on a trial basis but that would mean that you wouldn't be commiting yourself to buying it without trying it first.
