HDR10/ HLG

Hi,

does anyone know of the sony KD 55 XE 9005 supports, or will support HDR10 and HLG? I can’t seem to even ya e the option to run the HLG demo on the BBC iPlayer app. This has been available on other 4K tv’s I’ve tried.

As far as I know, all 2018 BRAVIAs support both HDR10 and HLG out of the box. Your KD55XE9005 is one of the 2017 models which does support HLG but which the BBC did not list last year for the Blue Planet II broadcast.

The first thing I would suggest is checking to see if your firmware is up to date, as the last major update did include a tweak for HLG. Also have a look at this Community discussion on the subject to get an idea of where things are with HLG at present.

So we’re saying 2018 models yes, but no update for HDR10 on 2017 models?

Hi,

I found this article which has more details about this: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00161421.

In short, the TV supports HDR10 and HLG. I'd also recommend making sure it's up to date as support for iPlayer was improved with the last release.
