Google voice calling on LF-S50G

I was wondering if Sony had intentions to add voice calling to the LF-S50G, in line with the google home speaker.

I can use this feature on my google home speaker but the sony system informs me that it cannot make calls yet.

Did that before posting here, support have no idea, the chap sounded a bit clueless.

Same problem here, I have 3 Sony LF-S50G and two Google Home Mini's, the Mini's have voice calling but not the LF-S50G and considering the Sony's cost more than the 'proper' Goggle Home you would have expected then to update exactly the same. It is not as though Sony have to 'Sony customise' the update as they have to with the Smartphones (I can understand a delay there) it is just a matter of implementing the update. For me this is a VERY important feature (I am disabled) and I would have thought Sony would have responded with 1 or 2 days with an update... but as long as the update is within a week I suppose it is OK. But at the moment I will think really hard about buying something like this again, and wish I had bought the Google Home now. I am a MASSIVE Sony fan but with the missing earphone jack on the phone (my next phone will probably be a Samsung now, after having FIVE top if the range Sony phones) and if this doesn't get solved soon I doubt I will buy anything Sony again... sorry guys !

Agreed on all points. I have had this speaker from the start, even raising the awareness that you could not change the clock format.

Not adding this feature to this assistant would make it less functional and a negative point when deciding on whether to purchase this more expensive speaker or the Google home ( considering this cost £199).

Just to let you know I have emailed support just now in the hope I can get an answer. I think the only thing we can do is beep 'bugging them' until they actually do something. I can't believe with all the epakers they must have sold that others haven't wondered where the Voice Calling is, especially when I have it on the cheapo (£37) Google Home Mini but not on the expensive Sony spakers... doesn't make sense does it.. pay more and get less ! Hopefully they are working on it now and the facility will appear as if by magic in a few days... well I can dream 🙂

Still no sign of voice calling from Sony

and no advice from support to say this will ever arrive.

I have since bought another two google speakers; slowly the sony is losing ground and being relegated to a small bedroom, such a pity; if only they made the effort to keep it up to date.
