Aux input for 2002 head unit

Hi I have the head unit below and would like to add a 3.5mm DIN connection for my headphones port on my mobile? Please can you advise what I need. Best Nick Allen.

Hi @nicholasallen,

if the Chinch ports are inputs (no matter how they are labelled), you can buy a 3.5mm TRS to Chinch cable and plug your phone into it.

The cleanest solution would be an adapter casette though: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LYGZGLD/

Simply put it inside your casette-deck and plug your phone into it.

Thank you for your advice but please can you look into ithe matter further. I had a clinch cable and attached in to the input channel. But no sound through the head unit / speakers. I have checked the cable works in another device. And I checked the speaker volume on the phone and the head unit.

Hi Nic, No, not for me. I'm sure it can be done. It had a parrot phone kit attached when I got it. I'll look for a full harness set. I would have liked to have know what was needed. Best. Nic

Hi Upon further research I think it needs a UNILINK cable as well. I think this should make the set see it has an input. Can you confirm this from the tech specs. One site selling UNILINK say they only works with Sony stereos that 'scroll text' and have 'satelite radio'?

I have not purchased a UNILINK cable as yet because I had not had a confiemation this will work with the clinch cable. Best Nick
