New 4K TV shows 1080 on screen?

Hi all,

im new to the 4K game having recently purchased the 49XE8005. However, when playing a 4K Blu-ray through my Samsung 4K player when I press the info button the screen quotes 1080/24p. Does this mean I’m not viewing in full 4K quality or is this standard screen info?

Hi @andy.kilner1981,

it could be your player doesn't output 4K yet (maybe you used it on your old TV once and it auto-adjusted to its resolution).

Check the video output settings of your 4K Player.

thanks for the response. I figured out that it was due to my 4K player being linked to my Bose sound system console which does transmit in 4K to the Tv so I have directly connected the player to the TV to sort this out.

in the meantime, is there any guidance/recommendation on the individual picture settings to create the best picture possible?
