Forgot screen lock pattern on Sony Xperia L1 - and phone is locked

My daughter let her friend enter a new screen lock pattern on her phone, and then her friend forgot the pattern. In an attempt to fix it, we managed to lock the phone, by entering a new code on "my devices", but this did not help. The phone can still only be opened by the pattern code. Any tips?

this forum doesn't offer support for Sony Mobile products (visit https://support.sonymobile.com/ for dedicated support), yet I will try my luck helping you.

Is your phone connected to the internet?

You should still be able to connect to a hotspot from the quick access menu of your phone.

Unless the phone gets 'contacted' by the Google server to know it now has been locked via the 'my devices' function, it won't change its behavior and still require to lock pattern.

It is connected to internet, and still, we can´t unlock it any other way 😞 Will try the other forum, thanks!
