Understanding the two file formats shown in PlayMemories

Hello!

I have a Sony HandyCam which creates both MP4 and AVCHD files. When I import them to my computer, I can see both files in the PlayMemories App. Why do I need them both and is there anything I can do to simply import the MP4 files alone?

Hi TomNesler

It's perfectly fine to use the MP4 files alone if the intended purpose for them doesn't require the higher quality offered by AVCHD.
