Sony xperia x still charging after unplugging

Hi all I have a Sony xperia x when I plug it in theres no charging sound and once charging lead is removed the phone still thinks it's charging and displays the led light and the charging symbol on the phone any ideas what would cause this?

Do you experience the same if you boot on >>> safe mode, safe mode disable third party apps that maybe are causing this issue.

Hi @Sean9, sorry to hear about this.

Have you started to experience this behaviour very recently, for example after updating your phone or after installing a new application or is this something that has been occurring since you received your phone?

When you unplug the cable from the phone, for how long in the LED light and the charging symbol visible?

If you are charging your phone using a wall socket and the charger/cable that was included with your phone, is there any change if you use a USB port on a computer instead, or the other way around.

As @uliwooly wrote, safe mode is a great way to see if this is caused by a third party application or not since they won't be loaded while the phone is rebooted in safe mode. They will be loaded once you restart your phone back to "normal" mode again.
