After updating my device I started to receive cell broadcast information

After last update new annoying notification appears. Something like 'cell info' i trying to be displayed. I don't want it but I cannot find any way to hide it or turn off this 'cell info'.

I have installed new update cause I thought everything would be better... And now... Hmm

Hi @Jonas.

I live in Poland and I am using nju/Orange operator. My Xperia have been bought in "normal" store and does not have branded software.

I asked on polish android formu and I know people using other operators have same problem.

Surprised given your post is recent. That is annoying, had that on my Z5C when running MM, it was removed in nougat.

You can't block that notification but you can end the service and it doesn't come back. So every time you reboot your phone and that notification appears, long press go to app settings and force stop.

However if upon long pressing you get option to block all, by all means do so

Hi again @aiao,

I have received more information regarding this.

You may experience that after updating your Xperia™ X Performance to Android 7.1.1, your device starts to receive cell broadcast information. Cell broadcasting should not be enabled outside of Brazil. Cell broadcasting should not be enabled outside of Brazil.

This will be fixed in an upcoming software update! Do note that Software rollouts are a phased process - timings & availability may vary by market/carrier.

As a temporarily workaround you can block the notifications from the application by following the instructions below.

To turn off or silence all notifications for an app

From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
Tap Settings, then find and tap Notifications.
Tap the app you want to block notifications from.
Tap Block all or Show silently.
