Go to settings location tap the three dots right and turn both sliders to the off position. WiFi and Bluetooth are always scanning on mm for google, even if they are both turned off in settings. This was a huge drain on the xa model

I have the same disappointment. With my Z1 Compact and Z3 Compact the battery lasted over almost two days. With my new X Compact there's only 10% left around diner time. The usage is the same. And also the most energy consuming is the screen, but only for about 12%. I'm not using the battery life expanding feature. Therefore, when a full charge is 100% and I pull of the consuming apps the outcome must be the percentage of energy left. Wrong! The outcome is about 40% of energy left (right about the amount I'm used to with my recently deseased Z3c), while the Xc is giving me a 12% left. There's 28% missing. Do I have to go outside and search for it or something?

Same problem here, actually. This since when I bought the phone. The first days it was even up to 6% per hour. Constantly. But I had the phone synched with my old Xperia M2. Then using it and uninstalling some unneeded apps it went down to 1.5-2% per hour with screen off, up to 4-5% per hour with screen on. Basically from morning to midnight it goes down 50% or so.

The wakelocks, for what they can be monitored with an unrooted phone, are quite high. Also I've noticed that all 6 cores are always active?? Is that normal? The Xperia M2 was shutting down up to 3 cores over 4 when doing nothing.

When I got my Xperia X Compact in mid-November, I was amazed at the battery life, totally astounded - even after setting it up with all the apps I want and would usually install, I was getting the promised 3 days battery out of the phone, something which is never usually the case. It was unbelievable to get to day 3 and still be on around 35% battery.

However, only 4 weeks on, and I took my phone off 100% charge this morning and I am down to 70% already. What ?? I haven't changed a thing for this sort of dramatic decrease. Also, I can't see any rogue apps, or anything indeed using up my battery power.

Have I done anything wrong in terms of looking after my battery and getting the most out of it? It seems far too big a decrease to me in such a short time, and it's averaging just a day now, or even less, compared to the 3 days I was getting just one month ago. Anybody else noticed severe battery drain? Wondering if it could be from an update or something.

My X Compact's battery has been draining quickly even when I haven't been using the phone. I think I finally found the problem. My cell phone service provider (Ting) uses T-Mobile's network. I am in Seattle and I don't think T-Mobile's LTE signal is very strong. I think the phone uses a lot of energy as it keeps trying to reconnect to the LTE signal. So on Android 6.0.1 I went into Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Mobile networks > Preferred network type and changed the setting from "LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM" to "GSM only".

That seems to fix the problem. The quick battery drain has stopped and it looks like I can get through a full day of moderate use again. This is not an ideal solution because data is very slow. You can keep the "GSM only" setting most of the time and switch to LTE only when you need it. At least your battery won't be dead this way. I just found this yesterday to I haven't tried this solution long but so far, so good.

Anyone else found another solution?

Edit: There are 2 other settings "WCDMA only" and "WCDMA (preferred)/GSM" that are worth testing. They have high data speeds. Now I need to check them to see if they drain the battery quickly. If not, that could be the answer I've been looking for.

I have read Perhaps it is possible old files on an old SD card from a previous phone may be causing Idle? I have the X compact in every color and then an additional Japanese version with none of these battery concerns... so perhaps Idle is from some sort of situation with an SD card which is in need of reformatting?
