I have a KD55AF9 Android TV and am trying to connect a gadget to it via the Toslink optical audio output, but, getting no sound.

The TV is set to be "TV Speakers".

First question.......is it possible to have the sound coming from both the TV speakers and the Toslink output at the same time?

Second question......is there a setting somewhere to "turn on" the Toslink output?

All sorted! It was me being stupid and putting the cable in the wrong port on the gadget!!!!!

Toslink Is Always on and can be checked quite easily: if you see a red light it is working. The TV is able to output to toslink while using the internal speaker but only in pcm stereo. If you want to use with other speaker keep in mind that they won't be synchronized perfectly.
