tv is only 3 weeks old.

every couple of days the screen turns totally green

only way to fix is to switch plug on and off

is the tv faulty?

Sounds like it IS faulty. Return it ASAP.

I have the KD55X8507C and not had any problem as you've described. Indeed, I've not had any of the problems most people are complaining about...
