      <description>&lt;P&gt;Naturally, it is registered.&amp;nbsp; It was just that I expected to get a confirmation email to the effect that the product was covered by their 5-year guarantee.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; Peace of mind.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Just about every other manufacturer does this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I didn’t with my a9 either - you have to contact them directly and they are prepared to send an email or written guarantee; but you’ll have to provide proof of purchase (vat receipt) and &amp;nbsp;serial number screenshot (from the tv itself). I had to call them about 5 times, and you’ll wait several weeks, but persistence pays off.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;You can contact Sony on &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;0207 365 2810 to request it.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Actually, there's a reason for this; unlike other manufacturers, Sony doesn't require you to register for the standard warranty.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The registration on the website is solely for keeping track/locking down the serial numbers to your account and getting updates/information specific to your devices.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And the reason you need to send the receipt is because there's a different kind of registration for the extended warranty, which can only be done directly through support.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's painless and I actually prefer that to having to register every single warranty-protected product, but retailers usually don't even tell you that an extended Sony warranty needs registration; so I've seen this a lot (especially when new models are released).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this helps!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- JD&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The standard warranty is the regular 1-2 years that is supplied with any Sony purchase.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Extended warranty is anything you buy extra/5 years promotion which comes free with some TV models.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you buy extra you get a code which you can register online yourself. As for the extended 5 years one, you'll need to contact the &lt;A href="https://services.sony.co.uk/supportmvc/en/Contact/Email" target="_blank"&gt;Sony support reps&lt;/A&gt; to have that registered.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this helps!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- JD&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That's incorrect information, but I understand why your store/retailer shared that since most other brands handle warranty that way (Samsung and LG for example).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Try reaching out to the &lt;A href="https://services.sony.co.uk/supportmvc/en/Contact/Email" target="_blank"&gt;Sony support reps&lt;/A&gt; directly though, any more digging in different places would just confuse things even more.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this helps!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- JD&lt;/P&gt;</description>
