Sony TV 2019 75XG9595 - firmware update for ALLM/ VRR/ HFR features

Hi,

About 4 months ago, I bought new Sony 75XG9505 TV (Sony's top model tv of 2019 and also top price) and

I'm aware that my 2019 model doesn't have HDMI 2.1 (48Gbps), But I heard that Firmware update can leverage some new features with HDMI 2.0 that will allow us, Sony's customers, to enjoy while playing the new upcoming Sony PlayStation 5.

Some of the new features:

ALLM (auto low-latency mode)
VRR (variable refresh rates)
HFR (High Frame Rate) - 4k at 120hz or due to lack of bandwidth allow 2k at 120hz

I'll appreciate it if you can please send an update regarding those issues and if a firmware upgrade is planned for the near future for 2019 TV models.

ALLM (auto low-latency mode)
=> you alrady have it, it's call video game mode on Sony TV, TV detects it's video game signal and lower the latency
VRR (variable refresh rates)
=>won't be possible
HFR (High Frame Rate) - 4k at 120hz or due to lack of bandwidth allow 2k at 120hz
=>not possible

It's hardware related so there is no update possible for other features

Regard "video game mode" How can I check the status of this configuration? how do I turn it on? (my PS4 connected to my AVR receiver).

Regard VRR and HFR why it is not possible (I'm talking about new 2019 model not an old TV)?

Hi @ASAF86

It's as simple as connecting your PS4 and selecting Game in the picture modes. It will automatically be enabled every time you use that input.
