why can I down load Apple TV APP on my AG8. I have read it is available on AG9 and other sony TVs I don't understand why this is

I did find this list I just don't understand Why. is it possible that I can in the future? is it contractual reasons with Apple?

i have AG9 and can confirm, that AppleTV app is not available. Only Airplay2

App availability really depends on the developer (In this case Apple). If they decide to make it available on Android TV, it will be. Otherwise, it's not really something to do with Sony.

thanks win 88 I didn't know how it worked. as I get the APP on my £350 old Samsung I have in my sunroom but don't get it on my all singing sony. its clearly not a software issue

It is only AirPlay 2–Enabled TVs, without App support
