How to get through Google two-stage authentication on a Bravia 2015 TV

I finally worked out what goes wrong when trying to enter the two-step authentication code for a google account on this TV: it's that having entered the code, it is extremely hard to reach the 'Next' button because the UI navigation on this page is broken (properly testing your products is, like, SO boring...)

Here's what worked for me

Input the google account username and password and arrive at the 'two step authentication' screen.
Enter the code (just the numbers) with the on-screen keyboard, which obscures the data field, and select 'next'. The keyboard should disappear leaving your cursor on the "don't ask again" checkbox.
Push the LEFT arrow on the remote - this in fact takes your cursor to the 'help' button which is (unhelpfully) off the bottom of the screen.
Push the UP arrow on the remote - your cursor should now be on the elusive 'next' button but it's almost impossible to tell because it doesn't properly highlight.
Check by pushing LEFT once - this should highlight the 'try another way' button. Assuming that worked, go RIGHT again and you should see the 'next' button go slightly paler.
Click on the button and you should be good to go. Rubbish, innit?
