Kd65-xg8796 blank screen but has sound

I have a Sony Bravia Kd65xg8796 and after a few weeks of use (just outside the straight swap time window) the screen has just gone all white or light dark and only has sound of the tv programme. I tried turning on and off (including unplugging overnight) and factory reset but has not changed the situation. Has anyone else had this happen or have any ideas on how to resolve?

If the LED indicator is green it may be related to the remote. Have a look at this help page to troubleshoot the issue.
