KD-55XG8096: Unable to Upgrade to 6.6555 :-/

Hi All,

I just downloaded the latest FW to my new KD-55XG8096 the is running FW PKG6.6545 and would like to upgrade to 6.6555, but it seems to refuse to do so.

As it will not list it OverTheAir, I have downloaded it to a PC and moved the PKG to a USB.

The TV responds, copies the file to the TV and reboot to the Installing screen.

After about 1/3 progress, it reboots again and goes to the home screen, still showing PKG6.6545 af current FW.

I have downloaded the PKG from both a Mac and a Win10 desktop, same outcome.

Anyone seens this, and have a solution?

Update: Did a Factory Reset, basic setup and tried the update again: Same result. 😞

So, after some email ping-pong with Sony Support, and 3 different USB sticks, I managed to get the update go through.

Even though I had tried to format the first USB stick, it took two more to finally work.
Funny, since it seems to copy 100% from all the sticks.. 😕
